Description:

The Balkan region is post-conflict and mid-transition with a  very specific history of violence and discrimination which especially affects marginalized people. Transgender people have become invisible as a result of this which has led to their isolation and very limited movement within the country. Currently Trans activism is at a very basic and grass-roots level.  We will examine the assistance standards in working with adult transgender people and issues of medical and legal activism in an international context.
