Description:

Noah Adams and Michelle Forcier will be presenting a working draft of a booklet which details body care and passing resources for transgender children and teens. This workshop will concentrate on materials relevant to FTM youth, though is intended to be a part of a larger series for all gender non-conforming youth. We will present youth and family friendly materials for gender non-conforming children and early teens addressing issues of body care and the realities of passing, along the whole spectrum of experience. The workshop will be interactive in that we are actively soliciting the feedback and experiences of trans kids and their parents in the creation of these materials.

He works as a social worker for Vancouver Coastal Health (Vancouver, BC) and is currently about half way through his Masters of Social Work. He is currently working on his thesis, which is on transgender suicide. Recently, after attending the World Professional Association for Transgender Health Conference, he met Michelle Forcier and became interested in creating materials that address passing for transgender children and teens. He wishes these materials had been available when he was a teen.
