This workshop presents on the new anthology: Hung Jury: Testimonies of Genital Surgery by Transsexual Men. This long-awaited collection of stories shares the personal experiences of FTMs undergoing various forms of genital surgery (GS) in the past six decades. We will talk about our motivations for doing the book and talk about how the book debunks various myths and misinformation about GS. We will share excerpts of contributor testimonies about the trials and triumphs and photographs of various penises of various kinds of GS. We will also educate the audience about the diversity of surgical options available and the most recent medical advancements.

Trystan Cotten is Associate Professor of Gender Studies at California State University, Stanislaus where he teaches courses on gender, sexuality, and global political economy. He is currently conducting research on transsexual men, masculinity, and race in global contexts and facilitating educational workshops on LGBT issues in the workforce.
